About
Alexander Ivashkevich (born 1960, residing in Tallinn, Estonia) is a professional theatre and movie actor, tap dancer, choreographer, teacher and fine art photo artist.
Alexander has over 15 years of experience in fine art photography. Over the course of his career, he has achieved a high level of professional expertise, developed a distinctive and recognizable style, and gained recognition from the international photography community.
He primarily works in two genres: portrait and boudoir photography. Alexander's approach to photography is unconventional: in addition to emphasising natural beauty, it reveals aspects of personality that may be overlooked or even hidden.
Models frequently cite these photo sessions as one of the most effective forms of psychotherapy, noting that they significantly impact both the external and internal states of a person during and after the session.
Technique
Each photograph is individually framed and some are decorated with the French technique of verre églomisé (the application of both a design and gilding onto the rear face of glass), creating exclusive fine art pieces.
"I have spent a considerable amount of time learning about this technique and have finally developed my own approach, which enables me to present my work in a distinctive style and opens up new possibilities.”
Inspiration and working with models
He draws inspiration from renowned painters of past centuries, whose vision of natural human beauty aligns with his perception of the canons of past times.
During a photo shoot, his primary objective is to showcase the inner potential of a model, regardless of her age. The roles and characters are created specifically for each individual participating in a photo shoot. This allows the inner potential of each person to be revealed during the session, thereby opening up their hidden emotional capacity. Furthermore, it provides an invaluable opportunity to view oneself from an external perspective.
